Acreages
The acreages of the Cross Y Ranch consists of both Deeded lands and lands permitted for grazing from the USDI/Bureau of Land Management.  Approximately 800 acres are inholdings within the Agua Fria National Monument.

                The deeded lands consist of the following:

  • There are two 40 acre non-contiguous inholding parcels on Black Mesa, no buildings;
  • There is a 717.95 contiguous acre inholding at the HQ in the Canyon of the Agua Fria, inclusive of the HQ improvements;
  • 1,278.2± contiguous acre adjacent holding on Squaw Creek, no buildings.

Water Rights and Wells
The water rights go with the property.  There is a claim to some 239.5 acre feet for irrigation, livestock and domestic use on the Agua Fria River for the HQ property.  Please see the water right information included.  Approximately thirty acres are currently irrigated pasture on the HQ parcel.  The ranch has some water projects with AZ Game and Fish for water for wildlife, (primarily antelope).

The HQ has a diversion dam and pond.  There are three wells at the HQ; three wells on the 1,278 acres with two springs; two wells on the BLM and one spring on a 40 acre parcel on Black Mesa.  The 1,278 acres in Squaw Creek has thousands of Saguaro’s.

Buildings
The buildings at the HQ on the 720 acres includes two large custom homes built in the last 8 to 10 years; two older ranch houses, a bunkhouse, three manufactured homes, two horse barns, hay shed and misc. sheds.
