The Hackberry Patented Mining Claim is located 2½ miles northwest of Mayer in unincorporated Yavapai County, Arizona. Access to the
property from Highway 69 is by taking Grapevine Road (Forest Road 87A) 6/10ths of a mile to Forest Road 9211A. The property is approximately 1.2 miles on FR 9211A from the intersection of Grapevine Road. FR 9211A may require four-wheel drive.
19.83 gross tax roll acres.
Elevation & Topography
Approximately 4,800’ ASL. The property has rolling topography bisected by a wash in the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountains.
Historically the vegetation in the area consists of chaparral with some riparian along creeks, however the property burned in the 2017 Goodwin Fire.
Water Supply & Water Rights
The property is outside of the Prescott AMA, there are not any wells or springs located on the property.
The property is completely off the grid with no utilities.
Other than turn of the century foundations from mining operations there are no improvements on the property.
Taxes, Zoning, Flood Hazards
- The 2017 property tax bill was $595.74 (APN 500-09-019).
- Zoning is by Yavapai County RCU-2A, a two-acre minimum parcel size.

The Hackberry Patented Mining Claim is completely surrounded by Prescott National Forest only a few miles off of Highway 69 near the Prescott Quad-City area. The property was surveyed in 1893 and though inactive since the 1950s it was a significant part of the early Twentieth Century mining history in central Arizona. Now you can own a piece of history.
