Mapping

Most of the custom maps at Heaquarters West are produced under the supervision of Jerry Halmbacher. Although primarily a mineral appraiser, Jerry also has over 25 years of experience with GIS (computerized mapping) and all aspects of rural, agricultural and ranch cartography throughout the West.

His custom maps are used for everything from high quality prints suitable for framing and mounting in a ranch headquarters, to market surveys to assist in complex real estate assembly projects and ranch searches, to custom flood and topography maps.

Custom Ranch Map

A semi-custom topography map of a USFS Ranch in Gila County.

This project plotted the allotments, pasture fences, exclosures, deeded parcels and water filings on top of a stock USGS topography map; the canyons and mountains were shaded to emphasize the diverse topography in this ranch.

Building the map on top of a USGS topography saves times by reusing the topography and labeling already on the map.

A large print was made on archival quality paper and mounted on a wall at the ranch headquarters.

Dimensions: 24"x36" ('D' size print)

Market Surveys

A map of sale activity across a couple dozen townships in NW Arizona

Sales are shown in red - the darker the red, the more recent the sale.

Maps like this are used to quickly get a rough feel for a market - they can be used to support assembly projects, market analysis or sale searches for appraisals.

Specific dollar amounts, document and parcel numbers, etc. are available to clients, but not shown on this map.

Larger areas still and other counties are available.

Dimensions: 48"x60"
