Perennial, warm, native, fair grazing for wildlife and livestock. 8-25" tall stems that branch at the base and grow from rough, scaly rhizomes. Each spikelet has long hairs (3-5 mm) at the base. The large papery glumes narrow to tip with awns 4-5 mm long. Resembles overgrown tobosagrass. Grows on hills and plains. |
